John 6:35: Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."
Hey ya'll. Welcome to my online cookbook! After years of copying my recipes for friends and acquaintances, I've created a web site to share my favorites with just one click.
You'll find a variety of recipes. Illustrated above are three family favorites: Lemon Baked Alaska (which won the grand prize in the Valdosta Daily Times Cookbook contest), Spicy Shrimp and Crab Bisque, and Chicken Romaine Salad. These recipes are featured in the June/July 2004 edition of Taste of Home magazine as "My Mom's Best Meal."
The daughter of a restaurant owner and manager, I grew up with a family who loved each other and loved good food. My parents, Jack and Betty Parker, taught me a lot about cooking, business, and life. I've tried to pass those lessons on through my vocation as a high school business teacher and author for Cengage Learning, as well as through family and friendships.
In retirement, I've been able to bring my culinary passions to one more place where it can help others. My husband Leon and I attend Central Avenue Church of Christ in Valdosta, Georgia. Throughout most of the year, I serve a bi-weekly meal for about 200 people prior to our mid-week services. We call it "Feeding the Flock." The event has boosted our attendance at church and especially helps busy families.
Check out some of the simplest recipes that people ask for, such as Chicken Pot Pie, Spaghetti Amore, Pumpkin Bread, Cranberry Mousse, and Coconut Milk Cake.
Come see what I've got cooking this week!
